Thank you for posting these lovely photos to celebrate the Fourth! So glad you are enjoying some R&R in the US before heading out again into this beautiful world of ours.

    • Dear Jo — Yes, I can say with a lot of certainty that America is beautiful — and so is every other country I’ve visited. We live on a gorgeous, glorious planet and need to take very special care of it! Happy 4th!!

Happy 4th of July Betty! I love flowers. They are beautiful.

    • I love flowers, too, Kevin — and it’s been so incredible to see such beautiful ones all over the world — hope you’re having a gorgeous day!!

  4. Happy fourth Betty ! Have fun.

Heifer has projects on Martha’s Vineyard?! Thanks for sharing the beauty. Happy 4th!

  6. Happy 4th to you, as well, Betty. Sorry to have been away all week. I’m sure I’ve missed so much good stuff. Will try to catch up. Tomorrow’s post should explain my absence, however.
    Hugs,
    Kathy

Betty, a very special and happy 4th to you and yours 🙂 thank you for the beautiful pix.

  8. A fireworks of flowers display!! Wonderful!

  9. What a delightful tribute!

  10. What a beautiful display. You’ve even managed to make the geraniums looks gorgeous.

    • Why is it that geraniums are SO hard to photograph?? I took about a million pictures of the geraniums in Romania, since they were the most perfect ones I’ve ever seen, and they all just look like red blobs. What’s up with that?? Maybe it’s because they really only flourish in hot, dry climates and that’s the hardest light it seems to take pictures in … THANKS, Rosie!!

    Beautiful! Made my morning 🙂

    • I’m so happy … i love flowers so much and Edgartown is just like Flower Fairyland. Ridiculously pretty!

I must tell you, 12 months 12 countries sounds like a wonderful project. I’m so jealous! I hope you make it to India too one day. Good luck! 🙂

  12. what an eyeful! 🙂

  13. I wish my computer screen had “smell-o-vision”. 😉

    Enjoy your R&R.

Consider yourself hugged by this “Canuck” neighbour.

    • Darling Sybil, I’m not a big rose fan in general, but these were SO old-school and fragrant, I lost my heart .. they were GORGEOUS!

  14. Pat Rose

Betty – So thrilled you featured the beautiful flowers of Edgartown. If you are still here, I would love to meet you. I love your work for Heifer, Int’l. and am grateful I found out about you when you devoted one of your $100 days to benefit the Edgartown Public Library. I love your integrity and admire your enthusiasm for good works. Pat

    • Thanks SO much, Pat! I love the Edgartown Library and was IN there last week — alas! I should have introduced myself as a big fan. I wish we could sit down and talk because I am always SO curious about what it feels like to live in Edgartown full time — it’s a BIG dream of mine to spend at least one year on the Vineyard, year round. Thanks for your kind words, and I am so thrilled that you like Heifer as much as I do!! ALL the best the rest of the summer & I’ll pop in next time I’m there, for SURE!!

Love Pat Rose’ comments and am thankful to have reunited with you so I can travel and learn through your eyes!! I also love the flowers. If you saw my yard you would know I have a garden obsession!! Ha!

  16. How about Pat ROSE … wow, I wish I were still there! I love Edgartown, I’m nuts about that library, and would love to meet people who actually get to live there year-round. It’s one of my big fantasies, to spend a year on the island in all the seasons. I can only imagine, Deb, with your love of animals and plants and everything natural, what your beautiful yard looks like! So happy we’ve reconnected, too!!
